Created in 1916 to meet the increasing demands of the First World War, Base Borden is the birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force (1917) and the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (1940).  Today, Borden is the largest training base in Canada, given the number of schools, training establishments and units stationed there.  The Museum has a large collection of artefacts, including aircraft, artillery and tanks – some of which are extremely rare – telling the story of over a century of service to Canada and Canadians.
