For Sites What are the criteria for registering a historic place?
Canada Historic Places Day is for buildings, sites and landscapes that are open to the public and offer visitors an experience that celebrates Canada’s history, heritage or culture.
Participating sites might be owned or operated by governments, charities, not-for-profits, tourism agencies, local heritage businesses, arts and heritage organizations, etc.
For Sites I operate a restaurant in a heritage building. Can I be part of #HistoricPlacesDay?
If you offer a guided tour or other heritage experiences to visitors and do not require them to purchase food or beverages, your site may be approved to participate in Canada Historic Places Day. #HistoricPlacesDay is a celebration of heritage sites.
